HCI Consulting Inc. is a pay equity and compensation consulting practice serving Ontario and federally regulated employers. Our current consulting team brings private-sector consulting depth and public-sector pay equity Office experience — including former Senior Review Officers and Senior Officers with the Ontario Pay Equity Office and Canada’s Office of the Pay Equity Commissioner.

Mark Whittrick — Managing Partner & Consultant
Mark leads HCI Consulting with a focus on practical pay equity and compensation solutions for employers. He holds the CCCP designation and brings consulting experience from KPMG, Watson Wyatt, and Towers Watson. Mark works with organizations on plan strategy, compliance-oriented reviews, and connecting consulting work to tools and job evaluation where appropriate.
George Vandermey — Senior Consultant
George supports clients on pay equity consulting engagements, including assessment, plan development and updates, and maintenance-oriented consulting for Ontario and federally regulated employers as scoped by the engagement.
Rene O’Brien — Senior Consultant
Rene has approximately seven years as a Senior Review Officer at the Ontario Pay Equity Commission. That background informs HCI’s work with employers preparing for Review Officer discussions, mediation support, and plan quality under Ontario’s framework — always as consulting, not a substitute for legal advice or Commission determinations.
Sarah Jane Crudden / Sarah Crudden — Senior Consultant
Sarah has expert knowledge of Ontario’s Pay Equity Act and Canada’s Pay Equity Act. She served nine years as a Senior Officer at the Ontario Pay Equity Office and at Canada’s Office of the Pay Equity Commissioner, with experience spanning plans, mediation, and stakeholder advice.
