Ontario is introducing new legislation into Parliament today (March 6th, 2018) with the intent of closing the Gender Pay Equity Gap.  See the News Release (here).  The legislation proposes $50 million in funding over the next three years includes:

  • Pay Transparency for Job Postings and greater candidate and employee protection
  • Gender and Diversity reporting requirements for public and larger organizations (to be phased in)
  • Expanding and strengthening measures to promote and help women in workplace

The legislation is in addition to the existing Pay Equity requirements.
